Winter’s cold and darker days give us an opportunity and a reason to stay sheltered and more isolated from those around us. Spiritually it is considered a time of rest and withdrawal that can help prepare us for the birth of new opportunities. It is a time ripe for introspection; a time for looking back over the past year and considering the year to come. A time of endings in preparation for new beginnings. A time that can inspire positive change, inspiration and new ideas.

But often when the Christmas lights come down and the holiday celebrations are behind us, we find ourselves feeling dispirited, experiencing a lack of energy and initiative to do anything remotely productive. We waste this precious blessing of less activity and quiet, bemoaning the lack of things to do and wasting our time anxiously awaiting and longing for spring to arrive.
